Group walkingWe woke up on day 5 and thankfully the sun was shining! I had pre-booked the four of us to go to Studio Shiki for Maiko Makeovers in Gion. Our bookings included a outdoor photography shoot, so we had been hoping the sky would stay clear and it didn’t disappoint! Continue reading…

lineAPToday I had planned to meet up with my Japan Shipping Service Lolita Desu. I have been using her sevices for a little while and when I mentioned that I was coming over for a holiday to Japan, she very kindly offered to show us around Nagoya. By some stroke of luck, it also happened to fall on the day that Angelic Pretty decided to release Melty Cream Donut. I had never attended a release before, so Fox was happy to meet us and show us the steps! Continue reading…

It was out third day in Japan and I was ready to shop! Sharon and I were heading out to Osaka for a day long lolita search. Sarah and Leticia were feeling a little flat after the last couple of days, so decided to take it easy

and visit some local temples in Kyoto. Sharon, I do believe that means that we have out shopped our younger travelling companions! Continue reading…

Purakuraday2_smAfter a nice long sleep in we headed off for our second day in Japan. As it seemed that we all got a good nights sleep, we decided to walk to the train station as opposed to taking public transport. Continue reading…

Qantas flights from Australia to Japan are overnight, which means that you arrive at Narita to welcome a bright new day (providing you got a good nights sleep) Luckily for me I don’t have any problems sleeping any where, so I got a fairly good nights sleep. I was in good spirits when I was woken up by the crew. It didn’t take long after this before we were served breakfast and I got my special order of fruit again! Funnily enough fruit for breakfast was exactly what I wanted, I had set that as my preference in my frequent flyers before we left Australia. Little did I know that setting that status means that you   Continue reading…

KimonoThere is a Japanese festival called Kodomo no Hi, at a local school every year that I have been meaning to get to. I missed it last year and put it up on my calendar to make sure that I was able to go this year. Funnily enough I got the dates mixed up and was not able to attend again!
After I had dressed and was about to leave I called up another friend who was going and asked when they were getting there. Awkward silence… “Its not till next week though….” Crap! Unfortunately I had triple booked myself for the weekend after and was not able to make it, at least here are the pictures of what i was going to wear had I been able to go. Metamorphose Jewel Butterfly Yukata in Mint XD, maybe next year!

When Tamara and I went to the Angelic Pretty Anniversary event in Japan I was quite surprised about the range of people that were there, locals, foreigners, girls and guys, old and young, one so young that her mother bought the dresses and modified them to fit her!
I spotted these pictures, that were blogged this morning from a book called “Where Children Sleep” by James Mollison. It is a book showing a range of children thoughout the world and their bedrooms. I was quite interested in the three girls from Japan. One little girl in particular, reminded me of the one I had met at the Angelic Pretty event.

2012Stitch_blogWow December went so quick, Japan was so crazy amazing and everything I wanted for our trip and more. I had the best birthday, to be able to spend it shopping in Harajuku and some lovely friends to share it with. Christmas in another country was an interesting experience, no snow but lots of shopping and christmas cheer. I cant wait to go back again soon!

2o11 was a fantastic year for me, moving back to Adelaide and to my family and partner again was the right decision to make. Discovering the lovely group of lolitas and girls I have met and come to know has been an incredible journey, one I hope to continue for awhile yet! So many good things came out of this year and I welcome 2012 and all the new things to come In the mean time hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year!!!!
