TitleWhen July comes by, it is time for Avcon again and this years Avcon theme was fantasy RPG. I had decided to have a go at a lolita booth with Lauren and Adelle this year, so it was another year of all lolita for me (hang up the cosplay again for next year). The three of us put together Berrie Cute, a booth of lolita and cute merchandise we had picked up from Japan in June. Continue reading…

July found me back in Melbourne for another convention, this time Oz Comic-Con. I was eagerly awaiting the follow up from Supanova Melbourne where I got Rose McGowens autograph. This time they had three more cast members from Charmed, Holy Marie Combs, Shannon Doherty and Brian Krause. And if that wasn’t already enough, they also had Cary Elwes, one of the stars of Princess Bride and another of my favourite movies Robin Hood Men in Tights. I really wasnt sure which actor I should be fangirling over more! Continue reading…

AVCon is Adelaide’s premier Anime and Video Games Convention. It is a non-for-profit event organised and run by a dedicated group of volunteers, known as Team AVCon. Founded in 2001, the convention has been held annually since 2002.

This years Avcon theme is School Days 2013! So in traditional AVCon style they had a party in the lead up and held a Prom /Formal / School Dance! Continue reading…

It has been such a long time since I have been to Melbourne, so when Marie needed some help with her One day in Paradise booth for Supanova I couldn’t say no. It was also a really good opportunity for me to meet some of the Melbourne lolitas, that I have spoken to

with the Australian lolita events we have been having online.

Marie, Sarah and I flew over on the red eye flight from Adelaide to Melbourne and arrived quite early at the airport on friday morning.  We had a healthy breakfast at Nandos (lol, not really) before heading into the CBD for a quick hang out and then setting up the booth at the showgrounds in Melbourne. Setting up the booth and hanging up all the kawaii accessories always takes a long time, so it was late when we left to Continue reading…

OCC1We had Oz Comic Con over the weekend, it’s the second time it has been held in Adelaide and thankfully this year they made the space larger. The first year that it was held, very little tickets were sold on pre-sale, so they assumed it would be a small event and booked accordingly. Unfortunately for the organizers most of the people attending lined up and bought on the day so it was a lot of people packed into a small amount of space.

“Adelaide showed up in force for our second Oz Comic-Con, with over 25,000 attendees. Everyone loved our bigger venue, huge array of retailers and stellar line-up. With a brilliant time had by all, we can’t wait to come back to Adelaide next year”  Continue reading…

AVcon1Avcon stands for Anime, Video convention and was born a number of years ago from a group at Adelaide University. I have been going for a number of years now and have seen the convention grow from a small local convention held at Adelaide University, to a convention that people fly interstate from and is housed using the entire floorspace of the Adelaide convention center. I dont know the official numbers Continue reading…

SN2_1Supanova day 2, we were a little more relaxed this morning as we didnt have to rush off to line up for tickets. I did sweet lolita for the second day, the JSK was super comfy which was really nice. Continue reading…

Supanova Sydney on saturday was packed out! We decided to skip the early morning line up and sleep in so we arrived around lunchtime to be greeted with this! People as far as the eye could see… well maybe not, but I believe the crowd estimates for the weekend were 45,000 which was quite a bit up from last year. The rain kept alot of people away but there were quite a few cosplayers and lolitas around. Continue reading…
