HM_groupIt was getting close to Halloween when we decided to have a quick meet up to celebrate. We had great timing as it was a lovely day out for a picnic meet! I was a bit worried earlier on in the week as the forcast for the weekend was meant to be rainy, however it rained out during the week and we had gorgeous blue skies for a Halloween meet in the Botanic Gardens. We feasted on cupcakes, wedges and lemonade before a stroll around the gardens. As it was Halloween we decided to them our outfits for the day. Lauren decided to go with Pirates themes, she was wearing a Alice and the Pirates Castle of Nightmare JSK with Continue reading…

Today Adelaides first Lolita store opened at The Adelaide Arcade, in the CBD!!! All of the Local Lolitas have been in countdown, waiting for theTokyo store to open since we heard rumours of a brick and mortor shop opening (finally to be able to try something on and see it before buying). It has been in the planning for quite some time now by Suzanna and all her hard work paid off with a totally successful first day in business!  The shop opened early this morning to a line of excited and gorgeously coordinated lolitas….. I’m sure there would have been some confused commuters going to work this morning with all of the girls travelling in peak hour to get into the city in time. I had gym with my personal trainer this morning so after my session I legged it home, jumped though the shower, started dressing (to be interrupted by the postie with a package) then finished and jumped on the first tram down to Rundle mall. Luckily I was only a little late and was greeted by a shop full of frilly girls! Continue reading…

It is an exciting day for me today, two new items!! Last Night Adelle posted a picture on her FB of VRher new dressform. I have been huting for one similar for quite some time now. It’s quite easy to find dressmaking mannequins that allow you to vary the size and shape, but I have been looking for a dressform that is solid and looks pretty for me to display my dresses on. When I saw the picture I asked Adelle where she got it from and she mentioned that her friend got one at Neds. This morning I called around and located the one I wanted in the second shop I called, so after work I headed down there and picked it up. It was really good timing too, because this morning my Vampire Requiem dress in my trade from rongunatt arrived! Unfortunately I was working so I had to wait till lunch to try it on, so I was looking longingly at the package for most of the morning. Come lunch time I sprang into action and thankfully it fit (Alyssium 1, Aatp 0… Continue reading…

On Sunday some of the local lolitas organised a swap/sales meet at my house. The night and morning before I busily put together some racks and made some sausage rolls and quiches for us to eat. My lovely bf made some chocolate and strawberry icecream (though to his dismay I forgot to get it out till everyone had left!) I was so busy cooking that I was still in my pjs when the first person arrived hahaha luckily Jo was great about it and helped me finish off the quiche while I madly rushed around and put some clothes on!

I have quite discovered I like trading. Up until this point I have happily and successfully traded three times. The great thing about trading is that if discussed and organised, most the time no money has to be exchanged and a little while later you get a new dress! So today I was browsing egl comm sales and I came across a post made by LJ user rongunatt, for a DS or DT for a Vampire Forest and Vampire Requiem ( I still have to check to spell that

Trade

name properly lol) I have eyed up the VR for quite some time now, but always had trouble getting in quick enough to buy or bid  in the sales or auctions that I have come across. Luckily for me, there wasnt too many comments and I had a couple of dresses that were on rongunatts wishlist. Continue reading…

I got 2 packages in the post today and both I was eagerly awaiting! The package on the left, is the one packed full of items from my Japanese shopping service, Hitsu. The fantastic point in particular about Hitsu’s service is that she provides live shopping events. She lets everyone know in advance when and where she is going shopping and then tells us what is in store and what the prices are, while she is there. If you send the payment straight away, she buys it on the spot. Its the next best thing to actually being in a store yourself and its very hard to stop yourself from buying everything when you are shopping like this! The great thing is that you never know what she might find in the store!

Hi everyone, I’m going to be in Japan for a month from the 4-27th December. While I’m there I’m going to madly checking out all the Lolita stores and closet child to hunt out all my wish list items! I thought while I was over there I might help out my fellow Lolita’s with their wish lists while I am at it. Continue reading…

Im so excited, my lovely Japanese shipping service got me my tickets to the Angelic Pretty anniversary event that is going to be held while I am in Japan! To make sure I was able to get tickets, she went in store the day they were released. Its going to to be held in December at the Hyatt Regency in Tokyo!. At the event there is going to be some special collaboration previews, showing of the 2012 spring catalogue, a live performance by Toky dolls, Twinkle night sweet cake and special gifts.

Its the perfect opportunity to get glammed up and mingle with a group of Japanese Lolitas, cannot wait!

I have been sitting in front of my latop for the last couple of months, umming and ahhhing about what my first purchases should be. The websites at the top of my list are Baby the Kawaii-death-pageStars Shine Bright, Alice and the Pirates and Angelic Pretty. I dont know why I have been so heistant to buy, I have been shopping over the internet and webstores for years now, but I finally caved a week or two back when I saw some BTSSB items go on sale. I decided that this was a good enough time to have a go.
